Veteran actor Jide Kosoko, actresses Eniola Badmus, Toyin Abraham and Bimbo Akintola, alongside several other entertainment personalities, have been named members of the All Progressives Congress Lagos State Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 elections.
The entertainers were listed under the council’s Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate, one of the directorates established as part of the party’s campaign structure in Lagos State.
The list was released by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre on Thursday, ahead of the planned inauguration of the campaign council on Friday, September 18, at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.
According to the published list, Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Toke Benson-Awoyinka, will serve as Director of the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate. Kosoko is listed as Co-Director, while Badmus will serve as Deputy Director.
Akeem Alimi, popularly known as Ajala Jalingo, is listed as Secretary, with Dare Olateju named Assistant Secretary.
Other prominent figures from the Yoruba film industry included on the list are veteran actor Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello, Saheed Balogun, Bukky Wright, Fathia Balogun, Yinka Quadri and Tayo Sobola.
The Fuji music industry is also represented in the directorate. Those listed include Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Abass Akande Obesere, Adewale Ayuba, Sulaimon Alao Adekunle, popularly known as Malaika, Akorede Babatunde Okunola, known as Osupa, and singer Small Doctor.
The inclusion of entertainers in the campaign structure reflects the party’s decision to establish a dedicated directorate covering entertainment and the creative economy as part of its wider campaign organisation.
The Lagos APC campaign council also includes political figures and representatives across several other directorates. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is listed as Chairman of the campaign council, while former Lagos governors Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode are among the senior figures included in the wider structure.
Former Senator Musiliu Obanikoro is listed as Director-General, while Rasaq Ajala is named Deputy Director-General and Adekunle Olayinka is listed as Campaign Secretary.
The campaign council is being constituted ahead of the 2027 general election, with its various directorates expected to handle different aspects of the party’s campaign organisation.
The entertainment and creative economy directorate will bring together actors, musicians and other figures from the creative sector as the APC prepares its campaign activities in Lagos.
The formal inauguration of the council is scheduled for September 18, after which the different directorates are expected to begin their respective campaign activities.
