Oyebanji Celebrates Oluremi Tinubu at 66, Highlights Her Contributions to Ekiti

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has congratulated Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, highlighting her public service and initiatives supporting vulnerable Nigerians.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, in Ado Ekiti, Oyebanji said the First Lady’s birthday provided an opportunity to recognise what he described as her virtues, impact and legacies.

The governor praised Oluremi Tinubu’s various public roles, noting that she had worked as a teacher, politician, First Lady of Lagos State, senator representing Lagos Central and, since 2023, First Lady of Nigeria.

Oyebanji also highlighted activities carried out through the Renewed Hope Initiative, saying the programme had supported areas including education, poverty alleviation and assistance for vulnerable groups such as orphans, persons with disabilities, elderly citizens, market men and women and other beneficiaries.

According to the governor, people in Ekiti State have also benefited from some of the initiatives. He cited scholarships and laptop computers provided to students, financial support and agricultural inputs for female farmers, as well as assistance for widows and senior citizens.

He also pointed to the ICT centre facilitated for Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, under the Renewed Hope Initiative. Oyebanji said the state had further benefited from Oluremi Tinubu’s recent visit, during which traders were empowered and the ICT centre was inaugurated.

The governor described the First Lady as a friend of Ekiti State and a supporter of his administration’s development efforts. He also commended her personal generosity and humanitarian activities.

Oyebanji further described Oluremi Tinubu as a source of support to President Bola Tinubu over the years and acknowledged her earlier career in education and public service.

He wished the First Lady many more years of good health and happiness, while praying that she would continue to have the opportunity to contribute to the country.

Oluremi Tinubu turned 66 on September 21, 2026, with tributes also coming from President Bola Tinubu and other political leaders. President Tinubu described his wife as his “truest friend and confidante” in a birthday message that also highlighted her humanitarian activities.
