The management of Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has publicly acknowledged the support of singer Zlatan Ibile and others during the entertainer’s ongoing legal proceedings in the United Kingdom.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by Poco Lee’s manager, Faleye “Dee-Y” Adedoyin, the management said Zlatan and others had been supportive and helpful throughout the matter.
The team said the assistance provided by Zlatan and the other individuals involved had been important in helping to move matters forward. It also expressed appreciation for their continued support and appealed to members of the public to refrain from spreading negative narratives about the situation.
The statement followed renewed discussion on social media about Zlatan’s involvement in Poco Lee’s situation. The debate intensified after online commentator Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, questioned reports surrounding Poco Lee’s trip to the United Kingdom and the support he had received during the ongoing legal proceedings.
The latest statement from Poco Lee’s management appears aimed at clarifying Zlatan’s involvement and discouraging further speculation about the relationship between the two entertainers.
Poco Lee is currently involved in criminal proceedings before Snaresbrook Crown Court in London. He faces five sexual-offence charges, including attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration. He has denied the allegations and has not been convicted of any offence.
Poco Lee was granted bail on September 11 ahead of a hearing scheduled for September 15. However, the hearing was later adjourned to February 8, 2027, after the charge sheet was reportedly unavailable and the entertainer did not appear before the court. A trial has subsequently been scheduled for March 8, 2027.
The legal case has generated considerable discussion online, with various claims and interpretations circulating about the circumstances surrounding the proceedings. Poco Lee’s management had previously urged the public and media to exercise restraint, stressing that allegations should not be treated as evidence of guilt.
The management had also warned against spreading claims that were not part of the charges before the UK court. In particular, the team previously addressed online references to alleged drink spiking, stating that such claims did not form part of the allegations or charges before the court.
The latest appeal for restraint comes as discussions surrounding the case continue online. The management said it valued the support provided by Zlatan and others and urged members of the public to avoid narratives that could create further confusion around the ongoing matter.
The court proceedings remain ongoing, and the eventual outcome will be determined through the UK legal process. Until the case is concluded, Poco Lee remains entitled to the presumption of innocence.
