The chairman of a local government area in Sokoto State has said the deployment of armoured vehicles is helping to improve security and restore confidence among residents of the community.
The local government boss said the presence of the armoured vehicles has strengthened security operations and provided greater protection for residents, particularly in areas that had previously experienced security challenges.
According to him, the improved security situation has encouraged residents to go about their daily activities with greater confidence while also supporting economic and social activities within the community.
He commended security personnel for their efforts in protecting residents and urged the people to continue cooperating with security agencies by providing useful information about suspicious movements and activities.
The chairman also stressed the importance of sustained collaboration between the local government, security agencies and community leaders in maintaining peace.
He said the government would continue to support measures aimed at protecting lives and property while ensuring that residents can conduct their businesses and other activities without fear.
The development comes amid continuing security concerns in parts of Sokoto State and other areas of north-western Nigeria, where authorities have intensified efforts to tackle criminal activities and protect vulnerable communities.
The local government administration said it would continue working with relevant authorities to strengthen security and ensure that the benefits of improved protection reach more communities.
