Former Senator representing Borno Central Senatorial District, Kaka Mallam Yale, has died at the age of 68.
Yale reportedly died on Friday morning, August 28, 2026, at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital in Maiduguri, where he was receiving treatment.
His death was confirmed by one of his sons, Ibrahim Yale, who disclosed the development in a telephone conversation.
“Yes, I am his biological son, our father, Kaka Yale died today (Friday),” he said.
Yale served as a senator representing Borno Central from 2007 to 2011 under the platform of the All Nigeria Peoples Party.
His time in the Senate came during a period of significant political and security challenges in Borno State, where he represented the interests of constituents in the central senatorial district.
Before his election to the National Assembly, Yale was involved in politics and public affairs in Borno State and was regarded as a notable figure in the state's political landscape.
