The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a suspected Nigerian kingpin of an international cocaine trafficking cartel while he was allegedly attempting to leave the country for Paris.
The suspect, identified as Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury, is described as a luxury goods dealer and social media influencer. He was reportedly arrested at the boarding gate of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on August 13, 2026.
According to the NDLEA, the arrest followed intelligence indicating that the suspect was preparing to travel to Paris on a business-class flight.
The agency said its investigation uncovered an international cocaine trafficking network allegedly using Nigeria as a transit point for moving cocaine from South America to the United Kingdom, other European countries and parts of Asia.
The investigation reportedly began after NDLEA operatives intercepted 184.50 kilogrammes of cocaine concealed for export through a courier logistics channel in Lagos. The agency described the seizure as the largest cocaine interception recorded through a courier company in Nigeria.
Following the suspect's arrest, NDLEA operatives searched his luxury apartment in Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos, where they reportedly recovered several exotic vehicles.
The agency also said KC Luxury was found carrying €7,750, £2,800 and N100,000, as well as expensive jewellery, at the time of his arrest at the airport.
The arrest has attracted considerable attention because of the suspect's prominent social media presence and the lavish lifestyle he frequently displayed online.
Videos and photographs showing KC Luxury with expensive cars, luxury watches and other high-value possessions have resurfaced following the NDLEA's announcement of his arrest. Some of the videos reportedly featured the suspect discussing his collection of luxury vehicles and watches.
The NDLEA said its investigation is continuing as officers work to uncover the full structure of the alleged cartel and identify other individuals who may be connected to the international drug trafficking operation.
The agency's latest operation highlights its continuing efforts to disrupt international drug networks operating through Nigeria, particularly organisations involved in the movement of cocaine and other controlled substances across borders.
The suspect is expected to face further investigation and legal proceedings as the NDLEA builds its case and works to establish the extent of his alleged involvement in the trafficking network.
The agency has also continued to carry out intelligence-led operations in different parts of the country, targeting individuals and groups suspected of involvement in the production, distribution and export of illicit drugs.
