Veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, had an emotional conversation with his daughter, Kira Taiwo, just weeks before his death, urging her to remain strong and assuring her that everything would be fine.
Kira shared the private exchange on her Instagram Story following her father’s death on Sunday at the age of 66. The conversation, dated July 26, 2026, showed the veteran actor comforting his daughter after learning that she had been crying over his condition.
Ogogo told Kira that seeing her and her sisters smiling gave him strength and appealed to her not to cry because her tears would make him sad.
He also encouraged her to remain strong and place her trust in Allah, assuring her that nothing would happen to him.
Kira responded by assuring her father that she was not crying and that she trusted in Allah. She also expressed her love for him, to which Ogogo replied with a message of affection.
The exchange has since touched many of the actor’s fans, particularly because it came only weeks before his death and revealed the close bond he shared with his daughter.
The emotional conversation came amid the family's efforts to find medical assistance for Ogogo after his health condition deteriorated. His daughters had publicly appealed for help and disclosed that he was battling stage-four cancer.
Ogogo died at about 66 after a decades-long career in the Yoruba film industry. His death has generated widespread tributes from colleagues, political figures and fans who celebrated his contributions to Nigerian cinema.
The actor is expected to be buried according to Islamic rites in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State, following funeral arrangements announced by his family and colleagues.
