Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Brazilian winger Savinho in a deal worth up to £85 million, as manager Roberto De Zerbi continues to reshape his squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
Spurs will pay an initial £75 million for the 22-year-old, with another £10 million available through performance-related add-ons. Savinho is expected to undergo a medical before completing the move and signing a long-term contract.
The transfer brings an end to Tottenham's long-standing interest in the Brazil international. Spurs had attempted to sign Savinho previously but failed to reach an agreement with Manchester City.
Savinho Gets Fresh Start at Tottenham
Savinho joined Manchester City from French club Troyes in 2024 after impressing during his loan spell at Girona, where he helped the Spanish side secure Champions League qualification.
However, opportunities at City became limited. He made just seven Premier League starts last season, despite showing flashes of his pace, dribbling ability and creativity.
Tottenham believe the winger can become an important part of their attacking plans, particularly because of his ability to operate from the right flank and create chances in one-on-one situations.
The move also represents a significant financial gain for Manchester City, who initially signed Savinho from Troyes for a considerably smaller fee. City are now preparing for his departure as they continue restructuring their squad.
Spurs Continue Major Summer Spending
Savinho's arrival is another major investment by Tottenham during an ambitious summer transfer window.
The London club have already spent heavily on strengthening their squad and are also negotiating with Manchester City over a potential move for Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush.
A separate deal for Marmoush could take Tottenham's spending on the two City players to around £160 million if both transfers are completed.
For Manchester City, Savinho's departure is part of a wider squad reshuffle, while Tottenham are hoping the Brazilian's pace and attacking quality can help them compete at the highest level.
With Savinho's medical still to be completed, the transfer is expected to move toward its final stages before the deal is officially confirmed.
