The visit will focus on economic empowerment, food security and development projects, with 5,000 residents expected to benefit from the Progressives United Against Poverty Initiative. The programme is designed to provide practical support to people seeking to improve their livelihoods.
A major part of the visit will also be the launch of the National Community Food Bank Programme for the South-East geopolitical zone. The initiative is expected to support vulnerable households, including widows, elderly people, persons with disabilities, nursing mothers and children.
Mrs Tinubu is also expected to visit the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, where she will commission selected projects, including an ICT centre intended to expand access to digital skills and technology.
The planned visit has also prompted increased security preparations across the state. Police and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps have begun assessing major routes and venues to strengthen security, traffic management and emergency response ahead of the event.
For Anambra, the visit represents an opportunity to deepen cooperation with the Federal Government while bringing empowerment and social-support programmes directly to residents. It will also mark Mrs Tinubu’s first official visit to the state since becoming Nigeria’s First Lady.
