The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has postponed the official unveiling of the campaign office for its 2027 presidential ticket of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and former State Security Service Director-General Lawal Daura.
The unveiling, earlier scheduled for Thursday, September 3, 2026, will now take place on Monday, September 7, 2026, according to a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Yusuf.
The event is scheduled for 11am at the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Office located at 43 Agadez Street, Wuse 2, Abuja.
The party urged its leaders, stakeholders and members to take note of the change and make arrangements based on the new date.
APM did not state a reason for the postponement in the announcement.
Makinde and Daura emerged as the party’s presidential and vice-presidential candidates at the APM National Elective Convention held in Bauchi in August. The party has since commenced preparations to build its campaign structure ahead of the 2027 general election.
Makinde, who is the governor of Oyo State, has been presented by the APM as its presidential candidate, while Daura, a former intelligence chief, was selected as his running mate.
The party has said it intends to position the ticket as an alternative ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with issues including security, economic development, job creation and improved governance expected to feature prominently in its campaign.
The rescheduled Abuja unveiling is expected to formally provide another platform for the party to outline its campaign plans and mobilise supporters around the Makinde-Daura ticket.
