The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has issued a revised dress code for candidates shortlisted for the oral interview stage of its ongoing 2024/2025 recruitment exercise.
The Board said the oral interviews will begin on September 7, 2026, marking the final stage of recruitment into the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Correctional Service, Federal Fire Service and Nigeria Immigration Service.
In a statement issued by its Head of Press and Public Relations, Okeh Juliet, the CDCFIB said the clarification became necessary following enquiries from candidates about the appropriate clothing for the interview.
Under the revised directive, candidates are required to appear in a white T-shirt, which may be either short-sleeved or long-sleeved. They are also expected to wear white shorts or white long trousers.
Female candidates may choose either the white shorts or long trousers, while a long-sleeved white T-shirt is also permitted. White sneakers and white socks are compulsory for candidates attending the oral interview. Female candidates may additionally wear a headscarf, although the Board said this is optional.
The CDCFIB stressed that compliance with the approved dress code is mandatory. Candidates who fail to meet the requirements could be denied access to the interview venue.
The latest directive supersedes the earlier clarification issued during the recruitment process. The Board therefore advised shortlisted applicants to follow the new requirements rather than relying on previous information about acceptable attire.
The oral interview is the concluding phase of the recruitment exercise covering the NSCDC, NCoS, FFS and NIS. Candidates who have been shortlisted are expected to check their status through the official recruitment portal, select an interview centre, choose an available date and time, and print their invitation letters.
The Board had earlier scheduled different periods for candidates to confirm their shortlisting status. Applicants in the Graduate Category were directed to check between August 31 and September 2, while those who applied with NCE, OND and SSCE qualifications are scheduled to check their status from September 7 to 9, 2026.
The CDCFIB has also repeatedly warned applicants to be cautious of fraudsters seeking money in exchange for recruitment. The Board maintains that participation in the recruitment exercise is free of charge and that applicants should not pay anyone who claims to have the ability to secure employment for them.
Candidates are therefore advised to prepare their required attire ahead of their scheduled interview and rely only on information released through the official CDCFIB recruitment channels for further instructions.
